This is a selfish home.
Consider the last picture. It is a deck made lovelier by the prospect it has of the neighbor. Now consider the prospect that same neighbor has.
The interiors are beautiful. I especially love the study and the hearth. It is a good house to be IN. Combined, though, with a northern exterior that might be an abattoir, and what is one saying? FU neighbor, I have mine?
When I say the interiors are beautiful, I mean to the eye. Not so much to the shin, and that is no staircase for children or a tipsy friend. This is a house that will teach grace. I’m glad someone threw the gauntlet at a square, sharp-cornered bath.
Gentler landscaping would help the exterior. Perhaps vines could grow on the north. Round and cushion the risers of the stair—and yes it does need a rail on both sides, and neither of them needs to be a weapon.
Geometry is very well, but at some point a cup must be a cup and a house must be a home.
Le Corbusier anybody?
